2005
Bought at Mansei-en at a visit in 2005, mainly to have a nice remembrance about an enjoyable talk with the famous bonsai master of Japan, Saburo Kato.
The small Shinpaku Juniper was a prestyled bonsai. I just wanted to correct some details and used the back as a new front. The full story was printed in Bonsai Europe in 2005.

Photo shot in Japan after purchase.

 Foliage is thinned in summer.

Three months later, in midd autumn, the Juniper was repotted.
The old clay soil was removed and the roots arranged.
The roots were washed to remove all of the old soil, that could cause root rot in the new environment this tree had to adapt too in Denmark.
The roots are shortened.
