Pruning
a Mountain Liquidambar

The bonsai used in this case, is a Mountain Liquidambar but the method is the same for Japanese maples and trees with the same type of leaf growth.
To develop a satisfying branch ramification, the branches must develop in a V-shape. This is done by removing the middle branch, as seen marked with a blue line at the photo, forcing the growth outwards. This way a more pleasing and spreading branch ramification is developed.
